springer
one word... ALKY!! people will tell ya not to since you trail ride, but if you can keep it full, it is prolly the power you are lookin for. might throw those looooong trail rides out the window, but it will make everything else so much more fun. Damn dude.... you must have around 70 or so HP, and you want more power??? I guess you get used to the power.... Do you have traction? I just have all the bolt ons and I just send a big old rooster tail behind me. Maybe a 8mil? IDK... Maybe get a Raptor and turbocharge it? AKheathen
10mill, different pipes? actually, if you haven't adjusted the timing at all, then yes, that is what you want to do. the dyna is real nice to get you both top-end, and bottom end, by running the different curve, so you don't have to sacrifice one for the other. on top of that, the dyna is custom programmable, has launch and powerjet/ powervalve controlls, and tach output. i run one, and do not regret it. 4 curves to choose from with the flick of a microswitch. SpeedRacer88
my timing is at 6 but i could just put my stock plate back on... so dyna is that it? like i said i wanna stay with the current top end and crank for now i jus wanna try and get all i can out of it... would some 40mm lectrons be worth much more power? but like i said is this really it? i cant believe i climbed the ladder that fast... this can't b it? AKheathen
well, 38-40's could get you some topend, noticable on the track maybe...... i love making the switch to lectron, though. they really are some bad-ass carbs, and real freakin easy to tune. there really isn't much more you can do, then some fine-tuning. which, is setting the timing how you like, keeping it jetted perfect, making sure your pipes put the power where you like, gear where you want, and finally, maybey have the cyls touched up, though not needed..... as for your build, you can't really do much aside from bumping the comp to different fuel, and keep it fine tuned. actually, if it is not really tuned well, there is some free power right there

gotta_goatsfast
lol i want power i could give a shit about controlling it lol Huh.... Your best bet at this point is to upgrade suspension and brakes. This WILL make you faster. It will make the trails more enjoyable and you'll have more control. I wouldn't say you've reached the "top of the ladder" as there is still far more potential. Are you sure your motor is tuned/jetted perfect? If you are wanting more, step up your fuel (oxygenated or methanol) or send the cylinders out for more aggressive porting. But honestly, it won't be very trail worthy anymore. It'll actually be boring and a handful unless you run wide open in the top end all day. Or you could step up to a 10 mil motor, but that is out of your price range. So whats wrong with a performance suspension and brakes?
SpeedRacer88
i'm guessing its getting tuned correctly i have it a the dealership now they say they use a computer or something for jetting idk just to be clear i have it apart for a topend rebuild and im jus buying parts while the cylinders are getting replated i bought a overide dyna coil vf3s, stepped up to 100 octane with 165psi and a trail tech i started this thread mainly becuz i wanted to know if it wud be wise to buy a dyna cdi for a "trail" bike i think imma get the cdi, and i never had any problems riding it in trails so far. so i never thought of suspension. dirtydownunder
is there any one else that can tune your bike ? a dealership cant tune a stock one let alone a modded one. ask them what jets they put in and let us know. id say as a trail bike goes, you have more than enough power. where did you want more power ? in the top or mid ? are you using all the gears ?. have you had it dyno'd ?. with a dyna you can fine tune the ignition, but i dont think its gonna yield you the extra power you want. what tyres and tyre pressure do you run ? what surfaces do you ride on ?
