CAJUN BANSHEE
I just built a long rod 4mil stock cyl. I have +6 swing arm and 21x11x8 9p extreme haulers. I am a 215lb rider and was wondering what might be the best sprocket set up to go with for dragging and duning. I am currently running stock sprockets. Was also wondering if I should go to a 12 paddle tire.
RadarRacing
You have about the perfect tire for a +6 swingarm, if you end up needing a +10 swingarm then you'd want something like 12s. As for gearing probably stock 14/41-43 if you are leaving in 2nd or a little higher gearing if you launch in 1st or ride in 1st and dune your bike. something like 15/43 15/42. Thanks alot, thats exactly what I needed to know. I probably will go to a +10 because the last set up on this +6 would bring the front end up pretty easy and it was the stock stroke 4mill or short rod crank which ended up busting a piston whithin 30 min of riding at the dunes. Those weird angled 4mill cranks are a pice of shit, Im still pissed about that, but anyway, so I guess Ill have a chrome +6 swing arm and 12 paddles for sale on here soon. thanks again
RadarRacing
Actually theres a bunch of short rod 4mils that ive seen last a very long time and a few were very fast. A 110mm rod is fine for rod length for a 58mm stroke. I wouldnt sweat the 110mm rod.
camatv
nobody will tell you but the shorter rod will rev a lil faster...
RagunCajun
I ran 14/41 in the dunes with 12 paddles haulers(i think it's called, i barrowed them). They were too much paddle for my stock swing arm bike. but im 60lbs lighter than you. For riding in the fields behind my house, i always use 15/41. I hope you have a 1-5 dunable override sir. sleeper06
nobody will tell you but the shorter rod will rev a lil faster... hit it on head cam i have built a few up[on request,no true proof but they felt like they revved very quickly, these were all 300ft bikes
RadarRacing
Banshee911's short rod 4 mil made 105HP and ran a 3.89 in 300' at like 82mph so I'd say they run decent. LOL
