dcalsv02
A couple of my friends are running E 85 in their turbo raptors. I am running full race gas. E85 is waaay cheaper. Can banshee's run on it? I was told that you have to jet 30% higher for E 85, i just dont know if it works with 2 strokes. Also and disadvantages or advantages would be great to know. Thanks ahead of time. I tried searching before I started this thread so im sorry if i am "beating a dead horse".
jbooker82
The same is true for methanol but I don't see guys switching back to race gas. You make up for the " less energy density" by running more. You will probably have to have your cards setup as alcohol carbs. You will also need to run a premix oil that blends with alcohol. Like klotz supertechniplate, original techniplate, benol, or maxima castor 927.
Jereme6655
Leave the e85 to your friends.....just cause they do run it doesn't mean they should run it. There are too many variables that are unknown still when it comes to e85 and 2strokes.
gotta_goatsfast
Also, remember that E85 (along with any alcohol based fuel) will do mean things to non-metallic fuel lines and seals/gaskets in the carbs and what not. All in all, I would treat it as you would when building an alcohol consuming bike.
dcalsv02
I was wondering because e85 is waaaay cheaper than race gas. If its hard on the motor and parts, then I will stay away from it for now. Just trying to save some money.
jbooker82
E85 is actually not as harsh on the fuel system as methanol. I would still treat it like methanol and flush / puge the fuel system after I am done riding.

Just trying to save some money. race gas where im at is 6.50 a gallon and methanol is 2.45 a gallon so if you gonna spend money to set ur carbs for e85 you should prolly just run meth instead
