AKheathen Posted August 12, 2011 Report Share Posted August 12, 2011 make sure the black/white wire is not getting ground with the killswitch in run. the black/red wire needs to be grounded (key) and you need to check/ohm your stator and pickup ohms/gap. Freshly sanded area at voltage reg ground lug near grab bar?? Yea I am getting a reading of 15,500 on the ohm meter from one spark plug boot to the other. I've tested every wire in the harness and all have continuity from one end to the other. Yea the voltage regulator has a good ground, paint is sanded off frame at mounts. make sure the black/white wire is not getting ground with the killswitch in run. the black/red wire needs to be grounded (key) and you need to check/ohm your stator and pickup ohms/gap. Will have to look at the black/white wire, don't recall seeing that one. yea stator checks out in spec with ohm meter and pick-up coil is gapped at .018.
