lefts cylinder problem

Recommended Posts

So I tore down my whole bike and had it powdercoated cleaned up everything really nice got it back together and now I'm having trouble w the left cylinder. When I run the bike the right pipe gets hot but the left doesn't. I compression tested the bike it has 155psi on both cylinders the reeds are new its getting fuel. I put in brand new plugs and put on a known good coil off another running bike. Any ideas?

I had a similar problem. I found on my shee that the cap on the carb was stripped and it would come off when you hit the throttle. This was causing it to miss fire and barley run. That was my deal but I'm sure some of the other guys will give you better pointers.

Switch the plug wires from one side, to the other, and see if the problem moves to the right side. Check the pick-up gap on the flywheel. Put new spark plug boots on, if those two ideas don't work.

what is the pickup gap supposed to be? ive heard a few people say this, i understand what it means but ive never heard of doing that

alright so i checked the pickup gap adjusted that a little bit i have spark on both cylinders. started the bike and it has a miss on the left cylinder. i compression tested the left cylinder and its at 152 psi. the reeds look brand new, the plugs are new i swithed the plug wires to see if the problem went to the other side and it stays with the left hand side.. im lost
