wont shift into 4-5-6 gears

Recommended Posts

xc woods riding will eat an override right up.

you need a stock modded trans the shift shaft will help a lil bit a cut star will help a lil bit but untill you actually fix the real problem it will never shift right. a dog cut on the gears is what you need.

it will be a 6 speed, neutral will be in the stock location, you can backload it all day long just like stock you can land from jumps hard and it not bend a shift fork ( NO override can do that) you can be ona hill roll backwards, shift down and then get back on the power and go back up the hill ( this can also damage an override even duneable)

get the correct trans for what you need.

i wass trying to think of what that is called but it just crossed my mind lol

Good deal...I will give Kevin a ring then since I purchased all my other stuff from him and he has excellent customer service. Can I use a cut transmission with the modded shift shaft and low tension spring along with the modded shift star? I've heard you can't use them together. Any advice on that would be appreciated. Thanks for every ones help so far!

Thanks for all the help! I will call kevin tomorrow and get it squared away. Good reason to tear it down again since I'm gonna get new cases because mine had a pinhole leak from a bad repair job with the tig on a chain whack. This way it will be RIGHT! Sux to rip apart a fresh build with only 2-3 hours on it lol.

Just got off the phone with Kevin at HJR...he's gonna hook me up. N down, dunable cut 1-5, with a manual 6th gear. He assured me that I would love it and be able to backload it and it wouldn't hurt it at all. He said technology has came a long ways and it would be perfect for xc/woods riding. I think it will be awesome to bang gears without the clutch and have no fear of backloading. I hope this will fix my issues lol. Once again...Kevin to the rescue! I'm going to go ahead and put new shift forks in it along with a new shift shaft too. Should be better than new in a few weeks from now!
