codynewman13
this may be a dumb question but i was wondering if there are any shorty pipes being made for a banshee i loved the sound of an fmf shorty silencer or a pro circut shorty on my bikes i used to have and would like to know if its been done on a banshee and what kind of power gin or loss i would have? locogato11283
I don't think there are necessarily any shorty silencers being made, but shortening the silencer is pretty easy. I shortened a set of Rocket silencers about 4" back when I ran them. Take the end cap off. Pull out the tube/packing. Cut the tube off however much you want. Cut off the aluminum part of the silencer the same amount. Then reassemble.

bansheesandrider
I would recomend keeping your silencers long. We have a big enough fight to keep riding areas open without more idiots running around with obnoxious bikes damaging our reputation. When I went to the longer Cascade CSFX silencers on my bike I did not notice any power loss over the shorter silencers I had been running, so I don't think there is much power to be gained by a shorter silencer, the length of the expansion chamber is more important. No power gain or loss. You're only removing a few inches at most. No noticeable sound difference. I would recomend keeping your silencers long. He won't gain or lose anything but cutting off a couple inches. If the packing is good, the sound difference will be minimal. I did mine for looks. Well he comes off as a kid who thinks loud pipes are cool and we don't need more of those running around! Most of them don't ever repack their silencers! I personally hate loud raspy sounding bikes andthe people that think they are cool. A fast quiet bike is way more impressive than a loud fast bike. camatv
shortening the silencer on a 2 cylinder banshee will NOT give it the bark that your old 250 had only CC increases will do that. kinda like trying to make a 4 cyl honda sound like a big block chevy by making the pipe on the car bigger.. we all know what that sounds llike.
