EZ2FLEE
Just replaced stock reeds that were stuck open, with boyeson power reeds and its really no different than before ...... Appoligize for not explaining sooner
Azryll
I don't think you usually have to rejet for just reeds. I would play with the air screws a bit, just do them evenly on both carbs. I would also check your throttle cables and carbs to make sure their clean as well.
bigblockbanshee
Do you have a K&N-style filter? If so, you didn't happen to clean and re-oil it when you swapped reeds did you? Over-oiling the filter will create these identical symptoms. Idles and revs great but when you take off and start to get into the powerband it falls off drastically like you're describing because it's sucking in filter oil that the engine can't burn. There's a fine line between not oiling enough and too much. Also being way fat on your jets will do that too but that's about the only two things I've experienced that led to those symptoms. Just a guess anyway... Edited July 16, 2011 by bigblockbanshee
