You said it got you back to camp. Was it running normal getting you back to camp? Maybe the parking brake switch is causing problems? A lot of people here have problems with the parking brake switch. Most disconnect it.
bansheesandrider
Parking brake switch won't shut it off, it will just limit the RPM and make it run like crap. Do you still have the TORS hooked up? If you do, unplug the little black box under the left side of the fuel tank next to the coil and see if that makes a difference. Also, check your wire harness for damaged or shorted wires, check your pickup coil gap and then you need to start testing the coil, stator and all of your switches. If they all check OK, then I would borow a CDI box from a friend and see if that is it.

Larry's Shee
TORS and p-brake box function simular, simular malfunction also. After you check elec, start looking at mechanical. Personally, I wouldn't ride until I figured it out in case it is mechanical, to avoid further damage. JMHO, your results may, and will vary. shane walker
Thanks to all of you guys for helping me out. I pulled the coil and took it to get tested and it was bad. Put anew one on and still no start. I then took the flywheel off and took the stator off and had it tested also, it was bad too. Now I am waiting for the new one to come in the mail. As far as the tors goes and PB switch, those were removed a long time ago but thanks for the thought b/c I didn't even know what they were. I love this site, a lot of nice helpfull people on here. Thanks again and ill update you guys when the new stator arrives.
shane walker
well..... got the new stator in yesterday. put it in and put the cover back on, turned the fuel on and all of a sudden my left carb is pouring fuel out of the bottom hose on the bowl. im not very knowledgable on carbs but I took it aprt and the floats seemed to be working fine. I ordered a clymens manual yesterday and I guess I will wait for it to come in so that I can troubleshoot a little more. Also like a dumbass I did not check the gap on my pickup coil before I put the cover back on. any suggestions on the carb leak and does anybody know the easiest way to get the gap right on the pickup coil? thanks again everybody. shane walker
Well.... shee runs again!!!! I took the left carb off and took the bottom off, I then took the floats off as well as the plunger. sprayed everything down with carb cleaner very well and before putting the floats back on, there is a little tab that the plunger attaches to. I took that little tab and bent it very little upwards towards the carb so that the plunger would close for certain. i then put it all back together, pulled the cover back off of my flywheel and adjusted my pickup coil to a buisness card gap and then put it back together and it started right up and tears ass!! thanks alot to all of you guys on here for helping me. im starting to learn a little about working on shee's. Larry's Shee
Adjusting that little tab changed your float level. With carb upside down float level from gasket surface to top of float is 20-22mm(.80-.88"), Top of float will be bottom when flipped right side up.
