Bones30
I am looking at upgrading A arms and front shocks. I got a price on modquad +2 +1 black A arms, Elka dune edition shocks and braided front brake lines, about 1300 for everything. What do you guys think? Reviews on modquad A arms? Elka dune edition? Price (might be a little high)? Thanks for the feedback.

The "Dune Edition" kit from Elka has options of Stage 1-Stage 4 shocks. What stage "Dune Edition" shocks does that kit come with for $1300? Bones30
Not sure, I was doing some research and noticed that too. I will have to find out Tuesday. What stage would you recommend? Thanks
So Cal Suspension
Not sure, I was doing some research and noticed that too. I will have to find out Tuesday. What stage would you recommend? Thanks For most people, stage 2's are sufficient. If you do a lot of riding in different areas (ie, trails one weekend, dunes the next), maybe upgrade to something with compression adjustment (Stage 3's). If you only ride in one specific place, then just get the stage 1's or 2's. Stage 2's will be piggyback, with no compression/rebound adjustments. Stage 1's will be non reservoir, with no adjustments. Bones30
They are dual rates. Anybody know anything about modquad a arms? I haven't heard anything about their A arms, I'm sure there are lots of good companies that manufacture A arms just hope this is one of those companies. Ball joints are typically better than heim joints?
So Cal Suspension
They are dual rates. Anybody know anything about modquad a arms? I haven't heard anything about their A arms, I'm sure there are lots of good companies that manufacture A arms just hope this is one of those companies. Ball joints are typically better than heim joints? Were you able to find out what stage those shocks are? Recently I have had good luck with Modquad's customer service, but have not tested any of their products. The ballljoint vs heim discussion is one that usually ends in an argument of preference. I, for one, have never built a suspension setup (Race vehicle, sand car, etc) that used ball joints. In my opinion they are inferior, and heims are a MUCH better and stronger option. With that being said, the only time I would employ balljoints over heims, is if you ride consistently in wet and/or muddy conditions. Balljoints tend to fare better in moisture than heims, due to the fact that they are internally lubricated. When I say heims are better than balljoints, I mean QUALITY heims: Teflon, or PTFE "FK" brand rod ends. If the choice was balljoints, or the cheap, POS heims, go with ball joints. Make sense? K good...
So Cal Suspension
Fireball racing... which is a sponsor here supplies good quality heims n so on IMO... though you need to call them for any service as they do not answer emails EVER lol... Not in relation to the thread but in relation to what matt says... a lot of people cant tell the dif between a good n shity heim or ball joint Couple of things. Fireball is no longer a sponsor. Also, I agree. Most people can't tell the difference between heims, so I made this little picture. Both of these heims are the same size, same brand, and serve the same purpose, however they are FAR from the same quality. Both heims are made by FK Rod Ends. First thing you will notice is the price difference. There's no wonder why arm manufacturers use the heims on the left. Second thing I will point out, is the part numbers themselves. Any time you see a "T" after the part number, that signifies "teflon", or PTFE fabric liner. Third, notice the construction of the heim itself. The one on the right is 3 piece, with a PTFE fabric liner. The one on the left is one piece, metal on metal (junk). The only time we ever use the CM series heims, is for non structural applications. Light bars, tire racks, etc.

Bones30
Another dumb question, so I have been looking at second set of shocks Zillafreak found, I also found this set. What is the difference?? Different p/n but both are dual rates? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Elka-Shocks-Lone-Star-A-arms-Yamaha-Banshee-350-91-06-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem588ece9621QQitemZ380353025569QQptZMotorsQ5fATVQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories
Bones30
I assume the cheaper set of shocks must be less features??
