banshee_R1 Posted June 16, 2011 Report Posted June 16, 2011 I sweat like a pig. I need a helmet that has good air flow but doesnt cost 500 bucks. I Just got a o'neal rockhard slipknot helmet for fathers day Awsome graphics but looks like poor venting. It is a $250 all for the name on it. I need a helmet that looks good and has good flow. Any suggestions?? Quote
dcalsv02 Posted June 16, 2011 Report Posted June 16, 2011 I have a fox v2 that i am happy with. I used to work at cyclegear and never really found an offroad helmet that vented better than the others that wasnt over 350. I wear a bandanna under my helmet to absorb the sweat instead of stinking up my helmet. Quote
banshee_R1 Posted June 17, 2011 Author Report Posted June 17, 2011 I know HJC designed their vents in an air tunnel. But my old one sucks. I was thinking about the ones that have multiple intakes and exhausts. I see there are some with 10 and some with 13. I even saw one on e bay that said it had 41, Wat a joke im guessin Quote
dcalsv02 Posted June 17, 2011 Report Posted June 17, 2011 Im sure the one with 41 vents is real. but you might as well just put a plastic bowl over your head. There is no way that a helmet with that many vents is DOT or SNELL approved. Safety is the main concern right? Quote
banshee_R1 Posted June 17, 2011 Author Report Posted June 17, 2011 well yea. but you have to admit if our heads were hard enough to not need one that would be the sh*t Quote
WINDYCITYJOHN400 Posted June 17, 2011 Report Posted June 17, 2011 The "Klim F4 helmet" has all the saftey ratings, 41 vents and flows enough air that they sell a cold weather liner for it. Here is the link. http://www.firstplaceparts.com/3006-SBU.html It can be found on close out for $229. I've never owned one or even tried one on. (I like to have it on my head before I pay for it, but I can't find a local retailer.) I know it's not a ringing endorsment.....but I hope it helps. Quote
pweezy42 Posted June 17, 2011 Report Posted June 17, 2011 that helmet looks pretty sweet but i agree i need to put it on to see how it feels Quote

My step dad rides snowmobiles and from what I hear from him, those helmets are pretty nice, and light. Fair price to. Quote
banshee_R1 Posted June 17, 2011 Author Report Posted June 17, 2011 I agree its like ordering sunglasses out of a book. Limited places around here have limited helmets, I went to the shop that gets me the parts for my buiseness and got an afx dual sport helmet. It has 13 vents that can be open or closed with a real nice mesh liner, padding is removeable and washable. It weighs 3.4 lbs I believe, lighter than the hjcs they had there and also the couple of fox helmets. It is a very confortable helmet, nice looking and for 100 bucks with my discount seems well worth it MSRP bout $130 Im going riding tomorrow ill let you know how it is Quote
jbooker82 Posted June 18, 2011 Report Posted June 18, 2011 What about a TLD Air helmet. That is what I want to get when I get a new one. 12 intake vents and 5 exhaust. They have a winter liner avalable to keep you head warm in the winter so maybe they do flow a good amount. http://www.troyleedesigns.com/products.php?cat=32 Quote
speed_freak03 Posted September 2, 2011 Report Posted September 2, 2011 that klim looks neato. off topic, but neato is a nifty word.. I have a fly racing f2 helmet, its not too bad Quote
