bansheesandrider
i was searching for banshee parts on ebay and came accross a co mpany called "Superior Sleeve". anybody hear of them, or use them? are they any good? here is their website address: http://www.superiorsleeve.com/ Superior Sleeve has been around for a long time but I did not know they were still in business. They had a partnership with the long gone JD Racing to design and build those big dispacement monoblock cylinders and heads. They were supposed to cast and machine them and JD Racing was supposed to do the porting and ALL kits were to be sold through JD Racing. They decided they could improve their end of the deal by selling some kits themselves without JD Racing's knowledge. They got caught when their kits did not run as hard as JD's and customers started calling JD to get the porting corrected and JD wanted to know where they got the engine. It led to a lawsuit that I don't know the outcome, but JD ended up closing the doors for some other reasons and now thanks to your link I know where Superior Sleeve is. When JD was making those engines they were unbeatable, but some of the 535 motors were having a hard time keeping a welded crank together. I believe they eventually started pinning the cranks to keep them together.
camatv
is SS still making cylinders? that larger cc motor was one of the first out there so they had to break everythign first.. they were also sooo fast because they were the biggest thing out there. didnt see to many cheetas at that time it was the beginning of the aftermarket cylinders and the large cc banshee motors and the what i would call start of modern banshee sand racing.. i have only seen and rode one and it was a big motor 10 mill 77? or 75mm bore? it ran really good and it shoudl have it was a larger cc
dcalsv02
I have heard a few local people swear by this company. I was thinking about getting my other cylinders ported by them soon....Until i found Passion racing that is. I havent heard any negative feedback from anyone about superior. mopar1rules
Thanks for the info guys. Some interesting reading. Its too bad when two companies can't get along in the end, cause one of them gets greedier than the other and one of them or both of them end up closing their doors, cause of the lawsuits that start flying around. Good to know that they can build fast motors. I'm to assume that their machine work, crank repair, etc is decent too??
BLOODRAGE
i know this is a old thread but i just won a superior sleeve jug off ebay and was wondering if my stock crank will handle it id imagine not lol
shakar
if the topend is set up for stock stroke then yes. but....... it might be a good idea to send the stock crank out to a site sponcer for a look over and a tru and weld. goodluck
BLOODRAGE
yes it is set up for a stock stroke crank. what about a hot rods crank or somthing.double shipping isnt worth sending anything to a site sponcer for me
johndeere10
it didnt say what stroke it was for ? if it was set up for a stock stroke then it would work but you would need to have your cases port matched and i would say a max load and tz bearings and have your crank ture and welded Edited November 29, 2011 by johndeere10
BLOODRAGE
lol i just said it was for a stock stroke crank.it does come with the top case already port matched to except the bigger sleeves.here have a look http://www.ebay.com/itm/120814994588?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
shakar
you can buy a hot rods stock stroke or m&m sells/builds them for 350 i believe . jus make sure its welded .a tru and weld on your stock is like 70 from site sponser ,if it can be trued up. i saw that set up on ebay, it included everything to set it up .didnt look to shabby if the price was good Edited November 29, 2011 by shakar

bansheesandrider
lol i just said it was for a stock stroke crank.it does come with the top case already port matched to except the bigger sleeves.here have a look http://www.ebay.com/itm/120814994588?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 You are not supposed to mix and match case halves!!!!!!!!!! You either need to get the bottom half that goes with the top you bought, or you will need to just use the top that you bought as a pattern to grind your top to fit the cylinders.
