05Twin350 Posted June 13, 2011 Report Posted June 13, 2011 (edited) I am currently on the fence on wether to send my motor out to Jim from Passion for one of his OEM 4mil builds. I am between that or a 421 serval 4mil build. Just wanted to know what you guys think? My current mods are a drag port, bored .020 over, 34mikuni flatsides, VF3 reeds, 16/38 gearing, 20cc domes Modquad cool head, T5's, Billet water impeller, K&N pod filters, and a HD clutch. My bike absolutely rips already with this setup, just basically wondering if I will notice a big difference with the work I am thinking about doing with Jim. Any replies would be much appreciated. My bike is used for trails, as in dirt and gravel trails, not much woods riding in miami, Florida. I do drag race here and there, but mostly just do top speed runs on asphalt. Jereme6655 Posted June 14, 2011 Report Posted June 14, 2011 well now see this could be interesting.....because i believe that if you have a drag port, then you are missing too much metal in your ports to do the correct porting for the 4mil. however if you go with a serval you are gettin new cylinders to begin with. you COULD keep the other bottom and top end to either use it in a play bike or build a spare motor in case your the kinda guy that likes to get crazy with over-revs and has the chance to pop motors.... the serval should have more of a broad powerband to it.....more feel to the throttle than a real quick snap and your off kinda thing. that alone will help you out in dirt and gravel trails as you can come onto the pipe slower and not break the tires way too loose. Yes, I am getting a pair of New cylinders regardless if I decide to go with the 421 or stock ones. Appreciate the input. Quote
mikechief Posted June 14, 2011 Report Posted June 14, 2011 Unless you are on a budget don't go with stock cylinders . Stock cylinders were obsolete before they even started making the banshee Quote
Fierce Posted June 14, 2011 Report Posted June 14, 2011 There is still good power to be made out of stock cylinders. If you are having to buy cylinders, I would go with the Serval. I run a 421 serval with a Wildcard cleanup port, freakin hoot to ride! So much more usable power band. Quote
too_fazt Posted June 15, 2011 Report Posted June 15, 2011 if i was u i wouldnt bother with the serval or stockers, a cub will have what your looking for with miami riding. at least thats what i did and havent looked back. Quote
