Dirt Tires?

Recommended Posts

So i never really have ridden my banshee on anything but sand and the occasional spin around the block for tuning purposes... well the other day i took it up to a place to play around and realized i have been missing out big time, but my stock tires blow, i just spin spin spin! what are your favorites, it would be mostly dirt trails and hills, lots of rocks. I really like the shredders back in the day and the holeshots, what are you guys riding on?

i run the rarz2's on the rear.....6ply and do great in the dirt....great grip...but just enough slip to be fun....

X2 on that!

I've got the Razr2's on the front 22 X 7-10 and 20 X 11 - 10 shreaders on the rear.

My friend has the Holeshots on the Front and the Razr2's 20 X 11 - 9 on the rear. My fronts work so much better than his that HE commented on it! Likewise, I noticed his Rear Razr 2's were a little better than my shreaders. If you don't need an MX tire and your looking for a good Woods/Trail/GNCC type combo......I'd recommend the Razr 2's all around in the 22 X 7 - 10 in front and the 20 X 11 - 9 for the rear. I got the new Douglas racing rolled lip rims. The lips are rolled in not out like the factory ones. They are strong and look great. You wouldn't think they are a rolled lip rim because the edge isn't round, it's flat. They were cheap and work great.

I run the itp mudlite 20 inch seems to work good we ride rock, dirt, and coal hills probably not the best but seems pretty well rounded tire that looks like it will hold up.

which ever you get make sure it is 6 ply flats suck.

turf tamers sucks

razr's kinda suck

shredders suck a lot

kenda klaw's hook excellent and they wear very nicely. front and rear.

i also really liked the full set of kfx450 tires they are not to tall and have an excellent flat top profile for traction medium density compound and are really really cheap for a dunlop. full set front and rear from rockymountain were 160 to my door.

i think that depends on where you ride.

turf tamers are the best for hard packed dirt. or even the limestone at livingston.

oh how i wish livingston was still open !!!!!!! but ive ran holeshot gncc's and the razr 2's . i liked the gncc's very well.

I just installed Kenda Kutter XC's on my shee... 21's on the front and 20's on the rear. I researched on here and decided to give them a try and I'm very happy with how well they hook. I ride a mix of terrain...basically everything except sand. I also use the ITP GNCC tires on my other bike and realy like them, other than the price lol, although they seem to be wearing a little quick but I ride quite aggressively on them too. I used Razrz before and I will never run them again....I thought the front tires sucked when it was a little wet out or muddy.
