sebas1000
Hi my 08 banshee has fmf fattys with pc2 vforce 3 k&n dynojet kit cool head with 21cc dome . My next mods are pro design timing plate and bigger carbs . Now the timing what would benifit more from + 2 or + 3 or + 4 which would be safer and Wich more power .as for carbs I was gonna get 38 mm keihin would that be too big for my setup or what would be better . I just don't wanna be buyin more bigger carb once I put 4 mill crank bigger cylinder and ported head n cylinder can I still run them 38 mm with what I got now and not hurt my performance or anything at all . Any info will be appreciated thx
Larry's Shee
What do you mean by "bigger cylinders" ? What type or riding do you do? IMO, 38 would be to big for anything but all out drag.
Toomey Banshee
If your motor is still stock and not yet ported, those enormous 38's aint gonna work. The stockers are actually very good carbs and work well with mild porting. Your next mod should be some type of porting to match the riding you plan on doing. sstaton1983
im running a 4 mill passion port with 170psi compression, cpi pipes with pod filters and still on stock carbs.unless you are gonna go for all out drag racing where all your power is on top end you will not need bigger carbs. especially 38s with those fmfs. sebas1000
I do mostly trail riding, so what kind of advanced timing would be better for my setting. i was planning to put a big bore kit and port them instead so i dont think ill be porting my stock cylinder unless you guys think ill get good gains from porting stock cylinder and head
gotta_goatsfast
The limiting factor is budget. I wouldnt spend the extra money on big bore cylinders without running a 58mm stroke. Pick up a stroker crank (58mm stroke, 115mm rod) and have your stock cylinders ported by a site sponsor. If you can afford more, I suggest the 421 serval. Lots of power everywhere. Like the other guys said, stock carbs work just fine on a ported motor. I still run stock carbs on my wildcard aggressive ported stock stroke with great results. Porting your stock cylinders will give you big gains over what you have now. I had Wildcard Racing port mine and I couldn't be happier. If I was going to run a different setup than what I currently have....It would probably be a 4mil Serval.
