NetBSD
the 4 degree timing key advance, this isn't the timing plate moved +4? it is that key you put in the flywheel and shaft? if it is that key, take it out, they suck i want to know why these suck, i seen them around and seen a few people saying they suck or sheer off, i dont see how they can suck when they do nothing but position the flywheel, the flywheel should be held into place by the taper on the crank. spurdy
i want to know why these suck, i seen them around and seen a few people saying they suck or sheer off, i dont see how they can suck when they do nothing but position the flywheel, the flywheel should be held into place by the taper on the crank. They only suck if the flywheel/key combination isn't installed correctly. I think it's mostly preference. The guys that run a timing plate think it is the best and the guys that successfully run the offset key think that it is good enough. I prefer the plate myself, plus it gives you the ability to adjust the timing and not just fix it at +4. The stock plate can be easily modified to give you up to about 4 degrees of timing as well (just fyi). As for your question, I'd say your probably good on high octane pump fuel also. But, for peace of mind I'd probably run 25% 110 with it. You can hear detonation and that's what you'll get if your compression ratio is too high for the fuel you're running. So *play it by ear* so to speak. SP
badlarry
o.k. i get the whole detonation thing but am i gonna actually hear it over the pipes etc. it is easy to hear in a nice quiet car but figured i'd never hear it on the banshee??. so 93 octane should be good? but i'm gonna do 50/50 for the first tank back out. and adjust from there. the 110 does smell excellent though, i have a semi just thinking about it:)
