Losing power

Recommended Posts

Bit of a strange one here!! I need to make my banshee run at 19-20hp, not permanently just for a power run on a dyno. Reason being is that to make it road legal over here in the uk it has to have proof that it runs at this power or under. Can adjusting the screw on the throttle do this or will it still peak out high?

Sorry I forgot to mention I'll be running the bike stock, everything has to have kite marks stamped on it, like reg numbers on the pipes and lights etc. Plus I don't have an aftermarket head so I couldn't change domes, also would retarding the timing make that much of a difference?

I only really need a printout showing a peak of 19-20hp to tell the truth obviously with the banshees rev range because they ask what it revs out at. The test itself just checks that it's in good order and to make sure it's not dodgy. I may just have to have a word with the dyno people and see if they can make me dodgy power graph of some sort. Whenever I've asked people over here who have done it they say just to adjust the screw on the throttle.

Oh and I've got a set of t5's waiting to go on it once it's been passed, I'll probably fit some pods and advance the timing, looking into reeds aswell just not too sure whether to get the ones with or without the cages? Do they make that much of a difference?

:whoa: FULL REVERSE :jesterlaugh: Rig restrictors in carb, flat rubber washer with about 20mm center, jet rich, maybe retard timing bit . Pay dyno operator off for the last few HP

I did think about filling the rear tires with mercury!!lol
