ionroller
I have 30 mm OKO carbs on my banshee, mods in sig. I think my main is 168 now. I had a hesitation before the power band, I put the lid on to rule out being lean, and it runs better now. how many sizes up should I go to be safe with the air lid off? Wildcardracing
I'd go up at least two sizes and continue tuning. But a stumble before the powerband is likely a midrange jetting issue, I'd also recommend raising your needle one clip position.
ionroller
so lean the needle also. I plan to get JJH needles, should I still go middle clip?
Wildcardracing
No, you want to raise/richen your needle. Post up your complete setup and current jetting, we will be better able to help you out with it. -Brandon

sleeper06
165 is a big jet for those carbs,i suggest you do a plug chop and dial in your main first, then move to the needle which is where i think your problem is
ionroller
i looked at my plugs after i rode pretty balls out to a friend house, about 2 miles. I pulled in and looked at my plugs and they looked lean. It was running like shit too. Put my air bow lid on and it runs better? I figured I would be at like 155?
