adjustable timing plate /w stroker 4mil

this is the instructions

 

The quick change timing plate is pre-set at 0 degrees. To adjust simply loosen the two allen screws on

either end. Adjust downward for advance ( + ) and upward for retard ( - ) . Each line equals 1 degree plus or

minus. Remember to tighten the screws when finished. Your done!

The average timing for a bike on race gas is 5 degrees advance you may push it a little further to 7 degrees,

pump gas go to 2 degrees.

If you have a stroker crank you will have to adjust it differently as the ( o ) mark will change.

 

i do have the stroker crank sooo... what do I do,

 

pump gas 91

 

4 mil

 

310 mains

 

toomie t4

 

no air lid

 

should I start @ +3 degrees?

Depending on your compression,150 or less you can get away with +4,but 91 octane isnt real good so try it an listen for signs of pre-ignition or get better gas

ok did a compression got 115 and 119 so i'll try plus 4 timing and listen for detonation.

 

115? Sounds like you might want to be listening for a re-build. Advancing the timing on that motor is like putting high dollar spark plugs in a 200,000 mile motor and hoping it will be faster. Freshen that thing up and it will come alive! While your at it.....if you don't have money to port it, put the Vito's Super Stock pistons in it and you'll see big results for under $200.

I though it was on the low side too.

 

is a re-ring something that is a option?

 

are those vitios pistons supe light weight?

 

porting is going to happen.

 

I have a cool head, maybe i have the wrong size domes?

 

i wanted to put on the timing plate because I'm also doing a DC conversion so might aswell put on the timing plate.

 

i hope there is good nickel still left inside!!

stockers dont have nickasil ,they are borable depending on how much it is allready.If the cylinder is straight n true and piston to cylinder clearance is .003 a hone an rings will work.What size domes are in there?you will have to pull the whole thing apart to check clearances,I use a bore guage its the only way to check for sure but def check it now b4 something bad happens.If you need help an you dont want to go with the dude you got the motor from hit me up

with the cool head can I pull the top off and on because of o rings ? does the o rings need sealant?
