justinb1989
wait a minute....your 15....with a banshee that has around 55-60 hp. What do you mean that "sucks?" These bikes come stock with around 35 hp and are still a front runner in the power even on newer quads today. That kind of power is alot more than i would trust most 15 yr olds with....no offense. Want some more proof? a banshee with 55-60hp is making enough power that weighing in at 386lbs (supposed dry weight) equals 1hp per 6.4 lbs....... Where as the 2011 Dodge Ram quad cab 4x4 tips the scales at around 5100lbs. With the V-8 Hemi motor making 380hp that equals 1hp for every 13.4 lbs. Congradulations......somehow you think that having a QUAD with a power ratio two times greater than a big ass strong truck. lol. But if you'd like a different example let me know...ill think of another one. In all seriousness though.....a 55 hp banshee isn't a joke....it's not going to take shit from alot of other quads. It'll be PLENTY fast... its fine, ive been riding quads dirtbikes gocarts, and snowmobiles since i was 2, i had a 600 tripple that would do over 120mph even with me and another friend on it, it was a bigger sled a two up, and im looking to go faster on my banshee than what that snowmobile would do, ive rode raptor 700s yfz 450 quads, built yz 250s that most people would be scared to and would probably kill there selves on it, im all about speed and love it, my dad wont even ride my quad tho and says its f*ing fast. it doesnt seem very fast to me right now but it still needs to be jetted in and im going to change the front sprocket way down
Jereme6655
trying to get a banshee to go over 120 isn't feesible......im not saying its not possible....just not feesible. The size sprocket you would need to get it up to that speed would be retarted.....along with the power needed to turn said sprocket. And if you did modify it that much then youd basically be limiting its uses as it wouldn't really be able to ms style ride or trail ride due to the power band. Why would you wan tot drop the front sprocket down?? i thought you wanted more top end speed out of it......so that would mean you need to RAISE the FRONT sprocket... Trick2stroke
I remember when I was young and chased high HP numbers. You'll later learn it's not about having the most HP or the highest top speed but rather a quick bike that has a strong but smooth and ridable hp and tqr curve and the suspension to eat up whatever you're flying over. Anymore I won't touch an engine until the suspension is fully up to par and dialed in. You will be MUCH faster with a proper suspension set up that an extra 10-15 hp. Trick2stroke
Depends on how much you want to spend and what type of power delivery you want. The best all around and reasonably priced cylinder set up seems to be the Serval cylinders, typically set up as a 4 mil. Then there's the cub, which is the same cylinder but with higher port timings, typically used more for drag. You could spend more and get the billet twister cylinders or the cheetah powervalved cylinders. There really are a shitload of options. I myself will be going with a serval I think once I have the chassis the way I want it.
