06BCBANSHEE
hey guys so i bought some yfz 450 shocks of a member of here (not sure of his user name on here) we put them on my long travel a arms. I didnt know they where long travel arms when i bought them used. everything seems good, it just sits really low now. can i still jump it and everything? dont wanna wreck anything. I am gonna start saving for some long travel shocks. does works make long travel front shocks? couldnt find anything on ebay. kinda sucks that its so low cause i ride mostly trails and what not, but oh well still 20x better than stock garbage. also whats the best place to buy new shocks from if im getting them shipped to canada lemme know what u guys think
06BCBANSHEE
No one knows if this ok to ride? I found some stadium long travel shocks as well, kinda expensive. Are these any good

So Cal Suspension
If it sits really low, odds are you will be bottoming out and smashing your frame constantly. 450 shocks are generally pretty soft on a Banshee in stock trim. You need to find out what length shocks your arms were designed for, and have a manufacturer build you shocks to match. Since you are in Canada, I would suggest calling Elka first. Top of the line shocks, in my opinion, would be a set of Custom Axis shocks. If you're on a bit of a budget, give Tim at Works Performance a call, and he can get you dialed in with a great set of shocks.
06BCBANSHEE
I dont know how to upload pics on here. Theirs prob 6-8 inches of clearence. Ill measure when i get off work. I contacted eyeball enginwering and i need 18.75 " shocks. I found some stadium shocks that are fully adjustable. But i dont have the cash right now. I guess ill have to stick to the smooth trails until i can get some proper shocks

decon
If everything works out I should be running my yfz450R shocks (18.25" eye to eye) on a set of long travel a-arms soon. I don't have the money for aftermarket long travel shocks so the yfz450r shocks will have to do for now. I will let you know how it turns out. Beastydeuce
Have you had a chance to test it with the R shocks yet, I'm curious if a guy could buy some LT arms, and run R shocks until he he'd the bones to get some Axis. I've seen good condition R's go for 200 bucks because guys swap them out so quick when they race there 450's.

I've seen good condition R's go for 200 bucks because guys swap them out so quick when they race there 450's. That was my original plan, run the r shocks until i can penny up for some axis but my lt arms aren't designed for that long of a shock. I ran them on yfz450 a-arms in the past, they were decent but tough on my ball joints and made my steering real hard. I wouldn't recommend running R shocks on anything but lt arms designed for a 18.25" shock.
