what would cause this ?

Recommended Posts

sounds likeyour shift arm stop thing needs to be adjusted as it isnt fully engaging the next gear.

its the peg with the slot in it in this picture. loosening the lock nut will allow you to turn it. it is offset so when you turn it it will raise or lower the shift shaft. the picture also shows where the shift shaft has been ground out to allow more travel for more positive shifts.

the banshee tranmission is known for false neutrals anyways.

the dogs are banging together inside the trans and roling it to a false neutral inbetween gears. shift shaft mod ( as pictured,) cut shift star and stock transmission mod will solve this.. you will be able to make full throttle upshifts with just a touch of the clutch.

everything else is a gimick

I just did this mod, figure I'd bring the thread up so if anyone is interested in doing it. I went to Lowes and bought 2 different carbide grinders made for the dremel. I didn't have a dremel so I bought the cheapest one that had variable speed. I paid like 50 for the Lowes brand dremel. This steel is very hard so expect the grinders to wear out. I had enough to do the job. At least now I have a dremel tool for future mods. Mine turned out just like the one pictured.... now if only the rest of my parts whould come in I could possibly build the motor this weekend.
