Coupelx
So i stopped by the shop that has my cylinders today to see what was up. I originally had 66mm pistons for them. the shop bored one cylinder out too far and the piston to wall clearance was .045. They bought a set of 66.25 pistons and rebored the cylinders. Piston clearance is now .004. So now other than having a set of cylinders that are officially junk in my book. somehow the ring clearance is .026. I am to the point of saying fuck it and running them. It will only be fore a couple months before i hit the road on harvest in may. What are the cons of doing this? i am not looking for something that will run for years just for this spring and ill decide on something else this fall. Next time my shit is getting sent to passion. tired of getting hosed because i didnt have the time to ship stuff. I will make the time. BigRed350x
The pistons will rock back and forth in the cylinders and you run the risk of a skirt breaking off and causing a lot more damage.
dirtydownunder
thats a big clearance man, i got pissy because mine came in at .015" wiseco always have loose ring gaps, i wish they were tight so i could file fit. performance wont be 100% and when it starts to wear its only going to get looser, may even snag a ring. i wouldnt do it haha, your there, its easy, get some rings . Coupelx
The pistons will rock back and forth in the cylinders and you run the risk of a skirt breaking off and causing a lot more damage. that would be if the piston to wall clearance is too large which is not the case here. I am talking about the end gaps of the rings.
