americanmusc1e
I've got the cylinders off and I sent them in to get ported.... is there any way I can tell if my crank has been welded??? How hard is it to pull the crank out If I have the topend off???
okbeast
Have to split the cases to get the crank out. Might be able to tell if it's welded by looking through the top case, if they welded it on the inside of the web. BigRed350x
It would be tough to tell without splitting the cases. Hope you have some skinny fingers or some good eyes. lol
Jereme6655
go out and get yourself a clymers manual.....if it IS welded then by splitting the cases you'll not only know but you will be able to check other things ( to see if anything else has been modified) and you can do the trans mods while your in there. And if its not welded you can easy your mind for when you DO get it running again by sending it out and getting it welded haha. all honestly its not hard to split the cases. Things that will make your life easier for the job? A fly-wheel puller (make sure you get the correct tool...its only $13) a clutch holding tool to remove the clutch basket and some yamabond case sealant. Jereme6655
well.....it feels better knowing the inside of the cases and what's done to it doesn't it? if it were me i'd send that crank out quick like to get it welded up.....at least then it'll be off your mind when you go to squeeze that thumb throttle in hard next time...`
