winemaker
I decided that I am going to run a 13 front sprocket with a 42 tooth rear sprocket. I figure I can run higher gears in the sand with this set up. I am also running a 21X12/8 (9) paddle extreme hauler. 22X8/10's on the front. I want to be able to get 5th or even 6th up the hill. Do you guys think I can get sixth up the hill with the lower geared sprockets? I am riding on a 600 ft tall hill of sand in NV.
Scott M
I personally like to start in 2nd and use 3rd+4th to shoot sand hills. Unless the hills is 1/2 mile long you don't really need to climb in 5th+6th, those are to get you too and from the hill quick. I've tried lots of gear combo's and found 15/40 to work best for me, I just use the 41's untill they wear out. You got the mods for 15/41, 13/41 you will top out too soon in my opinion. The more shifting you do the more chance of loosing ground. Read on and Ride Hard! Scott []v[]

Justintoxicated
Yes at glamis we have huge dunes and wee need to get to at least 4th up them, On hills where I can only pull 3rd with stock gearing I can pull fourth with 13/42.. I don't top out much because in the dunes theres not many places you can reach 6th. I also start in 2nd gear.
