jetting for utah

Recommended Posts

i just rebuilt my bike and put a few more upgrades on my bike. i was wondering what everyone from utah runs for their jetting and a suggestion on the jetting size that i should run... my bike is bored .040 with cool head, v force 3 reeds, k&n pod filters and toomey t5 pipes, also has a boost bottle.

before the the rebuild it had paul turner mid rev pipes, stock reeds and was bored .020 with the same head on as it has now. and a single k&n air filter.

Stock carbs I assume?

I would try some 280 mains, stock pilots, needles on middle clip.

That should be pretty close, that is the exact jetting I have my buddies bike set up at and he has very similar mods to yours. You may be a little rich on the main, but see how the 280's feel and you can work your way down if needed. At this elevation even on my banshee I've always ran stock pilots. I would suggest picking up a few different main jets like: 270's, 280's, 290's. The hotter it gets out here if your bike feels rich on top, try a size smaller on the mains.

Hit me up, I ride at Sand Mountain all summer long. I live about 90 minutes from there. :headbang:

This sounds right on, I ride at St. Anthony which is the same ele as LS, and that is the jetting i ran with mostly bolt on's.
