Ice Studs

Recommended Posts

what would be the best kind of tires to stud for ice and where would i get the supplies i live in ky and the subdivision i live in gets ice and snow on the road and nobody clears it i just want somethin to mess around on 4 of 5 times out of the year...not looking to spend much just something safe to use.

if your only gona use the tires to go up n down an icy road you could just use any old tires with some lug left and order kold kutter/gold series screws online from studboy, woodys, etc. or if local motorsport shop has any. or if want really cheap get some sheet metal screws! or... if you want best ice tire get some chen shings or however you spell it. and get canadian screws!

im running the 1-1/4 carbide tip snowmobile studs... i do a lot of ice riding so they work for me.. I was lucky enough to find my buddy's old snowmobile track wiht studs still good yet and i used them in stock tires.. they hook good they are hard enough to ride on pavement to the gas station if needed, and they will rip the ice out in chunks, so whoever is behind you better have protection :headbang:

Yes you will be able too...

Just make sure your on the throttle and leaning alot... cause they can catch the ice out of no where...

Get used to how they act on the ice before going all out tryign to do a huge drifts...

alright thanks alot everybody for all the advice i believe the snowmobile studs is gonna be my best way to go.
