v-force reed comparison

Recommended Posts

does anyone have any dyno sheets or any experience w/the v-force 2 and 3's? i want to know which ones make the most hp. i'm going to be running some R2 pipes now, 34mm mikuni tmx carbs, pod filters, 15:1 UCCR, ported cylinders, port case, and billet intake cages w/built in cross over tube. i don't think my low tension carbon techs will support this new setup, so i'm open to ideas for some new reeds that will compliment this new setup.

how do the 2's flow more than the 3's? any tests done to confirm proof, or is it mearly a guess?

yes its proven, i dont have results on hand. i know people have tested them side byside on a flow bench and the 2's flow more. ive only tested them on a chassis dyno and the 2's will make 1-3 hp more.

I have herd that the 2's made a little bit more hp as well. But they also have metal screws that hold the petals on wich can cost you a whole lot of hp if they come loose.

I have heard people say this before about the screws but I don't see how! I have a set on my bike and the screw seats down pretty good and is covered by plastic mount piece of the reed cage.

the 3's have the capability to handle a higher volumetric flow rate if you use the reed stuffers like cascade sells. It all depends on what your setup is and how you want your intake charge to come in. Velocity, flow rates, etc. I like the 3's more.

Your the first guy to tell me V3's are better. Now I dunno which to get. I will have a 4mill long rod, 34mm tmx carbs w/billet intakes and built in cross over tube, aggressive dune style port job, R2 pipes, pod filters, 15:1 UCCR, port case, etc. Which ones do you think I should run?......V2 or V3?

buying the aftermarket reed stuffers is a waste of money, you can port/open/dremmel the stock plastic stuffer that comes with the 3's to match whatever intake you want, and they still wont flow as much as 2's but again youll likely not notice a difference riding only see a small difference on the dyno.
