mysterion Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 I am looking into getting a Toyota Tundra and was looking for some feedback on the difference (if any) between the 2 engines. Its going to be used for some towing approx 1500-2000lbs so nothing drastic. Is there really a difference other HP and torque. Anyone have one and have any recommendations/opinions? Thanks Quote

Thanks whats up man i have a 2008 (new body) toyota tundra. i have the 4.7 liter v8. ive towed up a 6 percent grade at 4 thousand pounds no problem. you can feel it pulling tho. gas mileage drops to about 11 when towing. but i got mine for 20 grand brand new double cab sr5. or else i would have goten the 5.7 v8 but im satisified Quote
06specialedition Posted March 5, 2011 Report Posted March 5, 2011 If your only towing like 2,000lbs I wouldn't worry either way. Just find yourself a good deal. I tow 5,000lbs with my little 3.5L V6 Honda Ridgeline no problem. Quote
