americanmusc1e
the shifter on my banshee has too much play in it where it attaches to the splined shaft going into the transmission.... I tried tightening the bolt, but no luck..... Is there any fix for this without just replacing the shifter?????
So Cal Suspension
the shifter on my banshee has too much play in it where it attaches to the splined shaft going into the transmission.... I tried tightening the bolt, but no luck..... Is there any fix for this without just replacing the shifter????? What I did with mine was pull it off, pull the bolt out, and using a chop saw, was remove some material where it "clamps" down so you can squeeze it tighter... I know it doesn't make much sense, but maybe you can figure it out.
Starwriter
I do the same thing with car battery cables. Cut the slot out wider so it clamps down before the slot closes up. And you know you have to pull the bolt all the way out before you can slide the shifter off, right?

BigRed350x
LOL weld the shifter to the shift shaft.
Paulie B
You could also try through bolting it and running a lock nut on the other side. You can get it much tighter like that with no fear of stripping it.
