SheezFast02 Posted March 2, 2011 Report Share Posted March 2, 2011 Just figured out my electrical issue and bike started up great for the first time with my newly installed PWK 28's. It was only running on one cylinder at first but I tapped on the bowl of the other carb and it lit up fine. Just need some baseline settings to be safe. -Eye sync seems alright/ no hanging of RPM/ decent response -Won't idle without choke (I backed the idle screws out to let the slides bottome out for so I could sync) I'm just wondering what the best way of setting the idle screws even on both carbs is. Also would like to know baseline mixture screw settings for these carbs. -Stock internals as far as I know -PWK 28's / currently 52 pilot/ 160 main/ mix screw 1.5 turns out from seated -FMF Fattys -Airbox on/ LID OFF -UNI Foam Filter -Sea Level is 300' above I'd appreciate any help you can offer Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

gotta_goatsfast Posted March 3, 2011 Report Share Posted March 3, 2011 You're rich. But, its okay. Pick up a pair of main jets 158, 155, 152, 150, and possibly 148. Read up on plug chopping to diagnose your jetting. Work your way down one jet size at a time while performing a plug chop to monitor a rich/lean condition until you find the sweet spot. I would also pick up a 50 pilot jet. Leave your mixture screw as is for now. My guess is you will end up with a 152 or 155 seeing as you live in Canadia and the weather is nice and cool up there. It will be nice to have those smaller jets because when it warms up in the spring/summer you'll end up re-jetting and you'll most likely be at a 150 or 152.
