empathy
The right hand side of the quad isn't going into the powerband although it is running. The left goes up and takes off on that side and goes into the powerband but on the right side you can hear it tingling and wanting to but it doesn't go into it properly. I checked the reeds and they looked fine although I have ordered some new ones. Anyone know what could be causing this?

I'll clean carbs if everything is the same after the first test. Yeah my bike is almost definitely in need of a rebuild. Think ill get the rebuild, new reeds and get it serviced in general before summeer. Edited March 1, 2011 by empathy
06specialedition
First thing I would do is check the carb sync. Make sure both slides are opening up and the same time
empathy
Just checked that and one of them is pulling up a little bit before the other. How do I adjust it with the tors unit still on? Would that be enough to make it have not come into the band?
empathy
Just changed the plug and its going into the band alot better but still hesitant at points, any help guys?
Larry's Shee
It should explain in the Clymers manual how to adjust. Make sure you take the jets and everything else apart when you clean carbs. Blow them out before reassembly.

Have you swapped coils? if its got a lot of fuel in the exhaust on that side I would lean towards bad spark?
ziegman
make sure the slides are not in backwards
empathy
Switched them around and seemed to go into the powerband alot better on BOTH sides??...... confused? I'm thinking of getting the carbs cleaned out, the reeds replaced and the coiols along with getting the carb slides adjusted?
empathy
Running worse than ever today.. The side thats running has a whiter smoke coming out of the exhaust, checked the plugs, the one thats running good has a dry plug, the one thats not is wet and oily.
