beastro
was checking out my compression and noticed that it was Very low... 40to be exact in my left cylinder. took off the head and noticed a nice chunk missing off of the piston. The left dome seems fine, there is bits of the piston that broke of kind of stuck to it. but i can scrape most off with my finger nail. my question is should i be worried about what happend to the rest of what broke off? http://i1233.photobucket.com/albums/ff388/beastorey010/100_1193.jpg http://i1233.photobucket.com/albums/ff388/beastorey010/100_1183.jpg

Coupelx
looks to me like the piston was melted rather than broken. especially since its at the exhaust port.

Coupelx
so annoyingly big signatures aside that piston got real hot. see how its rough around that area and spreads over to the transfers. though from the piston color it looks to have been jetted correctly. so it may have happened in the past and run like that. You will need to rebuild the top end most likely. Do a leakdown test after reassembly and verify everything is as it should be.
