WINDYCITYJOHN400
Was just looking at a Banshee they say is a 420. They say the piston is a 69mm and it has long rods. What's the deal with that set-up? Can you just do a sleeve and bore it that big? Will there be cooling issues? Your thoughts on a 420 stock cylinder? I've got a 370 long rod and I thought that was as far as you could bore. (I'm guessing unless it's sleeved.)
STINKYDELUXE
I know at one time TDR had some big sleeves like that.
BANSHEE HP
most big bore sleeves final bore is around 69 some times 70 but pistons are even harder to find. cooling i dont think is really going to be an issue as long as the jetting is correct. lesnant
I have been running a set of stockers with big bore sleeve. 4mil long rod. Runs pretty dam good. Had to replace the pistons after going to methanol. Ended up being Kawi pistons and windows had to get cut into them. 72mm pistons were still pretty spendy. 68chevyc10355
Even if it was 69 mm bore and stock stroke it would not be a 420, it would be roughly a 404. To be a 420 with stock stroke it would have to roughly have a 70.4 mm bore.
