DragKing
Yeah I was curious as to what kind of power the fat bastards make and if they are similar to CPI? I just bought a Dave Moore set of drag ported cylinders and I was trying to find a good inframe pipe to go with it..

BANSHEE HP
they are not the same as shearers, the pipes were assemblied by shearer using stampings vito had made to his specs. they are a very broad power range pipe with great top end but will generally not pull as high of rpms of the shearers. dirtydownunder
i thought they were pretty close to the shearers, is it a big difference ? hmmmm they would go pretty good on some serval cylinders then, i might look into them, instead of some shearers. dajogejr
Try Sniper inframe. He's a site sponsor and his quality is awesome. Vitos FB and Shearer inframe will be damn near identical on a set of stockers drag ported. The Shearer will pull more RPM with a set of cylinders that breathe better like a CP or twister cylinder. I bet you could test both pipes back to back at the same track and not get .05 worth of consistent difference.
SlowMoe
I taught snipers were for cubs? 4 mills specifically? What about r2's?
dajogejr
Depends on the "drag port" and it's numbers as to how close in dimensions and timings it is to a cub. I'm sure they will work well on quite a few different engine designs. Fat Bastards AND Shearer pipes weren't designed with one motor in mind either, rather a range so they could appeal to a wider audience. I think the Snipers were tested "mostly" on a 4 mil cub....so that's where they have the best research base.

But they make a great point of saying that the software program they use to design a pipe, as well as the shape of the pipe sections make it possible for them to make a pipe for ANY motor by simply adjusting the section sizes of the pipe pieces before they weld them together. (This is one of the reasons that the stinger pipes leading from the head pipe to the silencer are fully adjustable. ) Otherwise you would have to custom cut and shape every stinger tube. Plus it allows for variations from bike to bike. All you have to do is let them know your motor specs and they can custom tailor a pipe for your motor. They just made a set of In-Frames for a friends 4mil DM !!

bennieben1
diskoe has a set of vitos pipes on his 4 mil cub duner bike. the vitos fit ten times better than the shearer pipes. i got shearer pipes on my green duner, i wish i would have gotten the vitos pipes. i dont understand how shearer pipes have been sold for so many years and they fit like crap. MacRacer1
Since there daves cylinders call him and ask him what he suggests!
camatv
i think the bike that shear made his pipes off had a majorly bent frame or something the big bores fit like total shit. i never had a set of vito's but they seem that they would clear the lower frame wells good.. from all the reading i have done the snipers were initially developed for the 421cub and released as the pipe for that cylinder. as the small bores from others were made for smaller motors and the big bores were made for over 500cc engines the cub just didnt have a pipe that really "fit " it.. anyone that makes pipes can design a pipe for your particular motor cpi, shear, hell probably FMF can also. there are lots of "pipe" manufaturere's that can do that i would say with what sniper adn the crew uses what at least i have seen is a LOT more variables and therory's to produce a pipe that works well..
