Loc
So I am finally getting around to putting the 4mm Cub together that I bought last year. The crank is a new wiseco long rod crank and I was told it was supposed to be welded from the factory. Well I dont see any welds. My question is can any reputable welder weld the crank or is it something that has to be sent out to be done by a professional. I want to get this thing done and just now opened the crank to look at it. I have looked at many pictures of welded cranks online and it doesnt look like it could be that hard. Thanks. Needs to be welded and trued at the same time. The welding will pull the crank out of true ever so slightly so it will need to be finessed after the welding is done... ClimbAnyHill
Wildcard Racing did a great job on my crank. Trued & welded by a professional.
camatv
nice welds! the problem i have seen with the wiseco's is they may not be pressed together all the way drop it in the cases and make SURE it clears them both sides and dosent rubb at all. also the center webb's main center pin? isnt welded either and that makes them phase out easily on bigger motors ( like the cub) the only way i know of welding the inside is to take it apart and weld it after its phased.. i have only delat with crankworks on that kind of a repair. and its not really cheap 180 bucks to 200 for all that. and it takes about 2 months wait. ( sometime less) but they are stupid true and welded by the best... might even check on having it pinned for phasing also. they really dont like the wiseco's that much... sleeper06
I have a miller syncrowavr 300,I weld my own cranks, stock cranks are easy because the center web/pin are one,Im no certified proffesional on cranks but i have a true stan or v-blocks a brass hammer and a dream,I beleive in checking the crank after its welded, but the heat if done rite should not rack it at all,Wisecp cranks have been plagued from discussions i have had with people, get it lookes at by someone who deals with banshee cranks
