guns4children
i just make sure my key is in, kill switch is isnt on, and i kick it slowly a few times just to get gas into the motor then give her a nice kick and a little gas all at the same time. works like a charm
RadarRacing
Exactly as Guns said but hard starting is definately a possible sign of low compression or other problems. It should start easy if everything is in good shape. With alky bikes with a lot of timing and compression its hard to start em when they're cold so I don't put my kill lanyard in my kill switch and I hold the throttle open and kick it over twice this way with no ignition, then with the lanyard in it'll fire right up. dirtydownunder
key on, ign switch on, fuel on, choke out, kick down, brap!
Coupelx
dont give it throttle. the choke doesnt work very well with the throttle open
muggzy
dont give it throttle. the choke doesnt work very well with the throttle open If you're jetted properly, and there's nothing wrong with your engine, then you should start right up with the throttle at idle (choke on when cold) and a couple of kicks. aleyesonme
Thanks for all the tips...i would be sure to use in the future. but the funny thing is that before i took the gas tank off and all the plastics, didnt have a prob starting...when i put everything back on..would not start for anything. SO again i tried my old remedy in blowing into both carbs from the overflows just to give it a try and very next kick fired right up. I was like 2 bikes same deal...lot of fuel came out so im guessing had something to do with the floats maybe being to high to start...something i remember reading about before..but hey it work....thanks again

Pasi S.
key on, ign switch on, fuel on, choke out, kick down, brap! Works for me too....
Jereme6655
okay.....first....kill switch and key OFF.......then...reach down and unclip your fanny pack and leave that at home. You won't be needing it. From here on out its time to get dirty and your fanny pack isn't meant for that. But in all seriousness.........do a compression test with your key off and holding your throttle wide open.....and kick until the needle stops raising on the guage. Then report back here.....anythign under 110 is where i would make the cut off and do a rebuild. If its above 110 then your next action would be to pull your carbs off and clean the hell outta them. it sounds like the problem your having is that your floats are slightly gummed up and aren't dropping when they need to......so your breath is just pushin them up real quick and breakin them free for a little bit. Then kick it......doesn't have to be super hard....but don't pussy-foot the thing......its a banshee....it'll handle it.
