midlifecrisis
The main jet is the small brass hex one when you open up the float bowls, the pilot is only accessible when you remove that plastic piece, its slides up towards you. The pilot is tiny, and you will need a small jewellers type of screwdriver to access it at the bottom of the hole that gets uncovered(in a nutshell anyway). muggzy
I had the same problem when I rebuilt my engine a couple of years ago and new to 2-strokes. It turned out that my jetting was off. Let us know exactly what you've got in there now - Pilot jet sizes, needle clip position and mains (nos are stamped on the jets) and what altitude and temp you're living in and what mods (exhaust, intake, etc) and we'll get you close. Jereme6655
what sized pilot jets do you have in there? with any aftermarket pipes you should be running a larger pilot jet size. and all i gotta say is DAMN your ridin WAY the hell up there in the altitude.....could have a very big thing.... cvalcore
ok the jets are 310 and the pilots the little one is 25 and the screw on the bottom of the float bowl is screwed all the way in should it be that way?? ya the altitude is high but its fun you dont see to many banshee's. i live in utah banshee's around here are mostly used for the dunes but with the dunes being 3 hours away i ride quit a bit in the mountains and only a few times a year at jerico. Jereme6655
okay....the screw at the bottom of the carb bowl is a drain....you want that screwed in. unless you want gas flowing out while your bike is running or just sitting there. i THINK you may need to jump up your pilot to a 27.5......i do know the 25 is a stock pilot and aftermarket pipes require a larger pilot jet. However im not 100% sure about it since your so freakin high up in the stratosphere....geez...

Yeah I live about 90 minutes from Sand Mountain, UT. I think its about (5,000 to 5,200FT) Just to give you an estimate on what jets to run, look at my mods in my profile....I run 310 mains, stock pilots, needles second notch from blunt end, air screws 1 1/2 out. I would say if your running 310's you could possibly be too rich, even with my 310's in the middle of the summer at 5,000FT I'm a tad rich and I'm running CPI's and Aggressive Dune Porting...etc. Remember though, the colder it is outside the more fuel you need. I don't ride in this weather, so I keep my 310's in for the summer riding I do. -Zach
