I pulled my motor and split the cases to change a tranny bearing an found the stator side rod looking like it got very hot any ideas y ?

Lack of oil but also possible the rod bearing getting ready to go. So you probably got the issue right before actual damage got bad. It's time to rebuild or new crank at this stage. No saving it unless you wanted to just risk it.

dang everyone has those cranks!!

lol....... na nah.... CAMATV The difference is we assemble all our cranks here in house assembled in the "USA". They are not ship from over seas like everyone elses. We seen how many crank failures happen out there off the China and Taiwan ones and just laughed.... We'd hate to put our name on something like that and end up paying for problem that should off been prevented if we did our own build instead. We been building cranks for +12 years already. We use better quality Bearings and better lower rod cage bearings. We've Been building +4mm to hold 120-130HP on NOS and no problems yet do to crank failure. A lot better quality built VS the Run of the Mill e-bay stuff you see. + we guarantee our cranks to be on point when you get them. The pic you see is right before the last phase of assembly. We can assemble these cranks with what ever rods or specs you like them to be. You name we do it here in house :D We have a base crank price and go from there. Our Top $$$ +4mm runs $599.99. If you like to just purchase the wheels we can do that too and you can build your own.

If interested feel free to drop us a message and we'd be happy to help you out with one too.
