bigblockbanshee
I'm in need of some boot clamps on the inlet side of the carbs. I've tried my local stealership and MRCycles.com and I can't find any diagrams that show them. Can anyone help me out or does anyone have some for sale? I need some pretty bad... n2otoofast4u
for the stock air box? The ones at the box, or at the carb? I have have the ones at the box in stock that are factory Yamaha.. The ones at the carbs are NA through Yamaha but I have some aftermarket ones that work just ass well and are the same width. We run them on the turbo bike and the work just fine.. Let me know if I can help Edited February 5, 2011 by n2otoofast4u
bigblockbanshee
Ya for the stock airbox. I just bought some new ones for the airbox side but I thought I forgot to get the carb inlet side. Now it seems as though there was a reason I didn't get 'em, I can't even find 'em! n2otoofast4u
Yeah they are NA from yamaha.. I have some nice aftermarket ones that fit in the stock boot groove.. What is your address? How big of a rush do you need them? I can send you 2 tommorow and you would have them Wed.. Or I can order you more than just 2 and send those.. Let me know.. I know how this goes
bigblockbanshee
Can you PM me a picture of what exactly you're talking about? Do they at least look stock or what? I have no idea why they would be discontinued from Yamaha but I need some regardless. Kinda thinking I may have to improvise.

bigblockbanshee
Dude if it's that big of a phucking deal then forget it, I'll manage. Don't waste your damn time getting the pictures or on postage to send me the clamps. I'll get them from someone that is a little more gracious. I just really don't wanna waste anyone's time or efforts if I'm not gonna be able to use 'em. Ya dig?
n2otoofast4u
We use them on both sides instead of the OEM stuff... the ones at the box itself are in fact OEM. I have those super glued on both the clamp and the box because we had trouble with them blowing iff under boost.. The other 2 seem to be fine.. The only thing I dont like about them is that they are straight screw driver, not phillips but will accept a nut driver or socket..

bigblockbanshee
I appreciate your concern for my apparent lack of ability to find my own parts. Last I checked my local hardware store didn't sell OEM Yamaha parts. That was the whole point of this thread. If you don't have anything to say about the OEM pieces then pass on, it's really pretty easy if you climb off of your high horse for a second... Some of you guys waste more time bitching at people than it would take to just keep the reply short and to the point, or even as I said, just pass on. Seems every forum has people like that though. I greatly appreciate the effort to go take pictures, I really do, but if I wanted traditional "hose clamps" I'd just use what I have. I don't see why there's such a big deal with wanting to use the factory-correct parts.

Hold on 5 minutes Ill post them they look like cheap hose clamps to me,you can get them in about any size at the local parts store,i think he is looking for an oem look. i use them on my exhaust boots and they eat up the rubber. bansheesrtoys
ok guys. he is right yamaha does not sell them, and no you can't get thm from a hardware store. the ones you see at ace, peppboy, aotuzone , will all be too thick. you need clamps off an import car they are small and fitt in the grooves pefect. plus imported car clamps don't have grooves in the band so it won't eat up the rubber. so go to a honda car dealer andg o to parts, and buy some hose clamps. i run some that i got off a radatior job i did at my shop. plus instead of that damn phillips it will be a 7mm. n2otoofast4u
My lord, all of this over some hose clamps?? I just get tired of the picture thing.. You could write "I have a brand new cylinder from Yamaha in the factory box, brand new never opened for sale" And you would get 10 people asking for pics... WTF for... You know what they look like.. All I was saying was that he said he needed them in a bad way, and was in a bind.. I had a solution for his problem with QUALITY parts that are proven to work that would get him going.. Thats all... Its over now.. And if you guys have a better option for him that he could have in his hands by simply walking to the mail box on Tuesday then you have more parts in stock than I do..
