moparken426
hi, i was wondering if anyone one could tell me anything about the syncing tool wesw78 used on youtube to sync in his carbs, and how reliable they are and if its worth purchasing. I found one on ebay for like 35 bucks, and just wanted some input on it. Thanks
KlotzBanshee
I got one from FAST for X-mas and they're supposed to be the cat's ass. But I haven't used it yet. btw: 35 bucks is a good deal! Edited January 31, 2011 by AssWhore
moparken426
yeah, but i also read on some other forums that if you have any air leaks it will throw off the vacum pressure.
mk2dubbin
i already had one for balancing the individual throttle bodies on my car and also have used it on my banshee for synching the carbs. it works well for both engines though there isnt a lot of room for it on the banshee. you are correct, if there are air leaks downstream of the tool it cant account for that. like always - you need to be sure that your rubber couplers, gaskets, etc are tight and in good condition. Maybe you should start with a leakdown test. If you are concerned about air leaks. The "snail" style tool works reallly well for syncing carbs. FASTOYS
They work flawlessly ! Beware though that the ones i have seen on ebay are not the same as they dont come with both adaptors to fit all size carbs like ours do, only the small one !! http://www.farmandsandtoys.com/partdetail.asp?partid=
crazycanuck
IMO, ALWAYS start with a leak down test. Then.... get urself a sync tool from FAST. Comes with both adapters, Its cheap and jeffro will get it shipped out asap
