2011 BansheeHQ Ride - Little Sahara, OK

Recommended Posts

If anyone has short clips they would like to send me, I would like to put together a video for the BHQ Home Page. I didn't get to take any video over the weekend. Send me short clips to locogato11283@bansheehq.com. Put something in the subject line about BHQ Ride or something.

from what i understand srp didnt show up till later friday afternoon one bike had a transmission lockup or something on the way out to the dunes ( orange and white bike). the other bike they brought to race was in my opinion more of a track bike with the setup it had. it wasnt full ridgid but was close. it was a lot like cockeye's 450 and he races the hell out of it on the dunes.. so i dont know how it would have fared..

in my opinion matt came out and was a blast to hang with was cool to watch and his dedication was shown in strides. he came out fighting and was prepared to do battle.. his 611 dm 10 mill absolutely smoked EVERY other bike there. there wasnt ANY local that was even close. no 4 mill to 18mil nothing. only bike that was close was scott's big [censored] 18. whats even funny to me is both were in stock chassis.. i know this may piss some people off. but i think its necessary to let the naysayers get the truth.

also i'd like to add that for some reason i am being constantly refer'd to as to beating the 421 of shears that was to race SRP. i want it known that srp didnt have anything to do with my build. they have never put a wrench on it or given me any advice on set up in fact i have learned it all myself from trial and error. my 535 DIDNT have sniper pipes on it when i beat matt and i want to add that later in the day with tom on it after they tuned it in it was getting me by about a half length to 1 bike. and of ALL the 421 cubs i have ever raced against that has been the best showing i have ever seen. this winter its getting a rebuild and freshen up and i'm going looking for a jockey that can ride.. yea SRP were parkend next to me but bobby was who i was really hangin out with. i'm personally kinda mad that his bike didnt run at all and was jacked up but never fixed. i dont feel that i should mess with another builders motor if they are there in the camp with it. oh wel we had fun on the 400ex in the rain!!

all drama aside i had a good time. it was great hanging out with kevin and everyone from arkansas, BB3 was fun as always. if i would have know it was going to rain like hell on saturday i would have gotten my ass out of bed and ran more on thursday and friday. i'm so pissed at the weather!!

i think i need to train andrew to be my jockey!!! or find NEWT! he's a hell of a rider

Matt and I waited until the sun went down on Saturday to try and get our match race in. He wanted to race as bad as I did, we both have something to prove.

He did say Cam out ran the 4 mill cub I was going to race but had trouble keeping his bike from flipping over. Maybe there needs to be a rematch there next year?

Sorry the race did not happen, we were 100 percent ready on the day of the race but the rain never stoped. I suggested we meet at a drag strip like Planetsand or somewhere. So the race may still happen.

:rotflmao: I dont think Matt has anything to prove! He has loads of us out there proving his shit for him!!

Matts bikes both the 4mm and the 10mm ran extremely hard once he got the setup close. To say that there was no bike even close i will just have to agree to disagree. Justin and Jerry, some of my customers(14mm cheetah, 10mm dm, 10mm dm and 10mm dmx) from okc bikes were extremely fast and setup too as always i seen them beat Matt in several races NOT saying they never got beat cause everyone loses at some point. Scotts Nelsons (Mccoy 18dm) was very fast and his 4mm cub, Zachass's 4mm cub(pink bike) and 14mm dm (green bike) was running right there. The black FAST 7mm cub was very competitive and several more im sure im forgetting. I think credit is due where credit is due and Matt Shearer, Nate Mccoy, and Jeff Wendorff at FAST all earned it this trip and lets not forget about there customers who put it together and made it go. I dont mean to leave anyone out seem like everyones stuff was on kill this weekend.

Great to see everyone and racing was awesome wish the rain would have waited till sun.

Agreed. I've never seen that many fast bikes all in one place. Shearer, M&M and FAST bikes ran the show. Very honorable mention to Camatv's bike, the R1 YFZ, Jason's bike and Zach's bikes. Those were the fastest guys of the weekend. I'm so pissed about Saturday. It would have been about 8 hours of nonstop drag racing. Everyone won at some point. I didn't see any one bike that won every pass. That's nearly impossible to do.

I hate myself for missing this..... That sounds like it was a fucking blast, with the potential to get nothing but better! The result of all these pics and talking has made me do this...

instead of riding in this good weather, it went under the knife and has been gutted, blank slate. I already wasn't fast enough, now I want to step up and build something that will be worth showing up with. I'm not foolish enough to believe I can run with the builders and sponsors bikes, but I'm shooting for as bitchin' as I can get. Project 5150 is on now!! And I'm stoked! ( I'll probably be an epic fail, lol, but I'd at least I'm trying! )

does anybody know who had the custom silver painted plastics/purple frame drag banshee that was hanging out at the other drag strip early afternoon on Friday.

I think it was a FAST Racing bike, we had some real close racing with my Honda cr500 based quad with red plastics and black frame.

Did not know everyone else was racing at another spot until we were leaving to get parts for my other quad so it would be ready for Saturday, If I only knew it was going to be a washout we would have stayed late at the second track.

I agree with Andy on this one. There were a bunch of bikes out there within a bike length of each other. Be it a big builder or a good old boy working in the garage building what he can, there was a bunch of people being competitive. It was a great show and we should all look forward to improving on our sport for next year. It was great to have that many Banshee enthusiast in one place. Cheers to all that made the trip enjoyable for everyone. We can all feel fortunate for being able to be at a great event.
