coryv4
what would be better for trails and messing around a 4mil or a 404 bigbore for my banshee i have toomey t5s v2 reeds and k&n filter and the bike is getting tired so i want to rebuild it and im not looking for a bike thats gonna tear my arms off at 80mph i want somthing that has power around midrange and i was wondering if a longer stroke or a bigger bore would be better
gotta_goatsfast
4mil with some MX porting on your stock jugs.
Trick2stroke
What's your budget? gottagofast suggested the cheapest route.

It's possible but going to be one hell of a ride around trees lol... My suggestion between Big bore or just adding a stroker crank? I'd go with the stroker crank. will be night and day even with stock porting. Cost effective and easy to build.
RagunCajun
I love my little 4 mil. Night and day for trails over my ported stock jugg set up. I'm never going back to stoke stroke. Power under the pipe is amazing. Plus it's so smooth of a delivery.
06specialedition
Wildcard Racing builds one of the best 4mil set ups I've ever rode, amazing low, mid, and top. Hit them up
BigRed350x
I'd go with a 4mil setup over the 404. If you go with the longrod (115mm rod) crank you will get the added benefit of lower piston-to-cylinder wall stresses and a smoother torque curve. Give Kevin at Herr Jugs racing a call and pick up one of his 4mil cranks and get your cylinders ported. He does some VERY nice port work. I'm running a set of cylinders he did for me on my stock stroke duner and its one of the funnest bikes I have. His number is in my signature. He will get you set up right and has very fast turnaround time. - Jared
coryv4
Vitos has a 4mil stroker that allows you to use stock pisons all you need is the stroker and a spacer and they clam it makes the same performance as the the regular stroker and it costs around

If vitos told you to jump off a bridge would you? There's the vitos way and then there's the right way. GUARANTEE you that you will NOT get the same performance as a correctly built 4mil from their hobbled together magic piston spacer plate junk setup. jbooker82
There's the vitos way and then there's the right way. That is funny and true. Ask loco what he thinks of vitos and their cranks. I also like the argument to run a regular or short rod crank so you can continue to run a standard piston. You should go a head and order extra standard pistons to keep on hand when you start breaking skirts. You would think that we are still having to bore the cylinders to 66mm and run blaster pistons in order to run a long rod crank.
EvilBanshee
Hey easy on Vito's boys and girls!! They have nice stuff... But back to the 404 vs stroker. the 404 is a great "top end performer" . I used to have a 404. Worked awesome if your into open fields and drag racing your friends. 4 mill Stroker is better in the mid to semi top end, their torquey!! Iv beaten a bunch of local guys with ported 350's and 4 mill strokers..

I am with this guy, I have a friend that bought the vitos 421 kit, nikasil came off the cylinder wall on the first ride, so he had them re sleeve, now it wont make any power. PassionRE
Either of these choices will require port alteration unless your going for the TURD motif...especially the big bore. Dont waste your time on the big bore or the Vito's crank, you'll wish you had that cash later down the road when your just disgusted with the outcome or torn down constantly. OEM jugs with sound porting and a quality 4 mill long rod have the capability of outrunning even some built 421 Cubs if your builder stays away from wives tales and uses real science instead....Jim
