crustydemon
I had many many Chevy and Dodge pickups and this last spring I bought a used Nissan Titan and I love it. Next time I buy a new truck I'll be getting a Nissan. They drive more like a car than a truck and just seem to be better built. They are made in America (not that I care) and it will out pull my Dodge with the Hemi. Just my opinion, I hate it when people think there are only three truck manufacturers in the world, It doesnt hurt to at least look into other options, there are deals to be had. I'm still getting shit from my friends for buying a "jap" vehicle but I dont care.
theshee
i have had a couple dodges, they were decent trucks. I have 2 silverados now, a 2009 1500 and a 2010 3500HD and like them both way more then either of my dodges. If smooth ride is an interest a chevy is the only way to go. Michael Jackson
Reason not to get a ford? http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&source=hp&q=ford+5.4+plug+problem&meta=&aq=2v&aqi=g2g-v3&aql=&oq=ford+5.4+pl&gs_rfai= They are known to blow out spark plugs lol... if your kein on either or of the ones you mentioned... get a chev dont buy a chevy or a dodge either, they all suck according to google !!! http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=chevy+5.3+piston+slap+problems&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai= http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=dodge+1500+hemi+problems&aq=f&aqi=g-v1&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai= and the nissan has brake pedal issues! http://usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/cars-trucks/daily-news/100304-Nissan-Recalls-Half-a-Million-Models/ shit, toyota too! http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=toyota+tundra+problems&aq=f&aqi=g5g-m5&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai= pretty much every full size truck sucks if you type its name + problems into google! ive got my sparkplugs epoxied in, so far so good. if i used the 2 chevy 1500's my friends have owned and run through multiple trannies and rear ends on(not even using for towing), as examples for all chevy 1500's, i would never buy anything from GM the rest of my life. but that would be pretty dumb of me to generalize them all as junk. btw, heres a list of recalls for the 2006 chevy silverado recalls http://www.automotive.com/2006/12/chevrolet/silverado/recalls/index.html 2006 f150 recalls http://www.automotive.com/2006/12/ford/f-150/recalls/index.html every brand has their problems

Infamous039
Damn guys im confused now on what to get. I agree with you guys that the Dodge Ram 1500 are pretty nice also. I definitely want be buying a Nissan truck. It sucks b/c all vehicles have there issue but is difficult in choosing the one with less issue. I will be going on Saturday to test drive a 2006 F150 Harley edition and a 2007 Chevy Silverado Duramax and I will report back.
locogato11283
Regardless of make, I would go with a diesel. They hold value better and just flat out run better.
lastnline75
if you buy a diesel just remember that thrun great but when they break they are fucking expensive. just traded my 02 duramax with 300,000 miles for an 07 dodge 4x4 dually with the 5.9 and i wish i had my chevy back. i have 2 dodges now, an 07 and a 99. i like my 99 better than the 07! Gummie_guy
either truck would be a decent truck. id stay away from dodge though, ive heard nothing but reliability problems from them unless its got a cummins. personally id probably go with an f150 if given the choice, as far as i know the spark plug problem was on early engine designs like the 96 4.6 in mustangs were notorious for it but it was fixed. i have a chevy 1500 and its a decent truck i love the power of a LS motor and you cant go wrong with a diesel, just make sure you change the spark plugs often. buttercup79
All trucks have issues.... it is a given. You just have to pick your poision. Personally, I would get the Chevy. Having owned Chevy's and Dodges.... go with the Chevy. Better ride, last just as long if maintained, etc etc. It is really up to your personal preference. Good Luck and let us know what you get! Infamous039
So over the past few weeks I hadve test drove several trucks but couldnt decide on nothing. I wasnt very happy with the qaulity and ride comfort of the trucks. So i stuck with my favorite cars and what I have owned over the last 6yrs which is a BMW. I was able to pick up a 2006 BMW 750i fully loaded with everything you can think of. I will be picking up a new trailer for this upcoming riding season and towing it with my 05 BMW X5 truck.. Here are some pics of my new bimmer.
gotta_goatsfast
The spark plug issue was the 2v 4.6 and 5.4 engines. The 3v 5.4 in the 04+ Fords are damn near bullet proof. 90% of the torque on them engines is made just after 1000rpm. Its a hell of a smooth V8. gstaten24
i have an 06 with the 5.4 and i love it!! it pulls my trailer (7000) lbs like there is nothing on it. the spark plug thing is an issue but being a mechanic i know the technique to get them out with out breaking them off. its a process but beats taking the head off or using one of those extractors thy came out with haha but i drove the 1500 and i liked it but i love my 06 the supercrew is great too plenty of room in the back. i will say try to get a long bed if you get an f150 tho the short bed just isnt big enough.
