sum320
Hey i have a 97 banshee i need to take off the gas tank to clean out all stuff thats in it. I took off the plastics in the front and undid all the bolts that hold it in, but i cant get it out. No matter what way i pull on it, it always seems the frame is the in the way. Is there a bolt i missed? I took out 4, or is there a certain way you have to pull it out? Thanks
Judge1
The frame is more than likely bent. The U shaped portion that holds the stem and radiator gets bent back easily when the bike is rolled. You can bend it back into shape but it should be gusseted. That is usually what keeps the gas tank from comming out. Edited December 28, 2010 by Judge1
NYUK
put a hammer handle under the back of the tank, and pry it out, it should pop out, bent steering loop or not.
