crustydemon
I finally got a helmet cam and was wondering if those of you that use them would give me some advise on some good ways to mount it. Its the contour hd and came with the goggle and flat surface mounts. I guess my main question is does the velcro and sticky pad really hold it or is there something better that I should get. I dont want to loose it right away.
locogato11283
I have my Contour mounted on the side of my helmet just above the goggle strap area I think. I really need to mount it on top. That tape shit is sticky ass stuff. It's not going anywhere.. I've wrecked with mine on several time and landed on my head. Been just fine. dirtydownunder
i have mine on top, looking down over the peak (can just see peak in vids). i was going to move mine to the side loco, i thought it gave more P.O.Vishness and you can see what the bike is doing. why dont you like it ? crustydemon
Ok I think I'll mount it on top of my helmet to start with. I dont really understand the goggle mount, it seems like it would just flop around.
bigboybanshee
I always mounted mine on the side of the helmet using the velcro. To set my camera angle up, I would set my helmet on my seat facing the handlebars, and move the camera around until I got the bars in the middle of focus and straight across...then stuck the velcro in the best spot. WINDYCITYJOHN400
Mounting to the side of the helmet gives the most steady shot. On top, your head motion is magnified as you glance up and down and your head shakes. Both work fine so it's a personal preferance.
papa_smurf49319
ive always mounted my contour hd to the goggle mount on the right side of my head, stays put really well, as long as you keep your goggles tight!
