dajogejr
Send them to Rob @ RDZ, he is a site sponsor and they are his cylinders. If you don't want to go that route, send them to Millenium and the plating will be done properly. Now not trying to be a jerk, so don't take it that way, but even the best cylinder on the market won't last on a properly setup and tuned bike. Not saying that's your case...just saying. I've had a 4 mil and 10 mil cub cylinder, and aside from some casting cleanup on both (FAST did the cleanup on my 4 mil, I did my cleanup on my 10 mil) they both ran very well right out of the box. BANSHEE HP
Eliminator cylinders are warranted from any chipping or flaking from the port work. RDZ Racing will re plate the cylinder & replace the piston free of charge. that was copied and pasted from rob's website.
dajogejr
Melted Nikasil is one thing, chipped because of his port work is another. So in the end, the question is which is it?
BANSHEE HP
id be willing to bet there was no addition porting done to these Athena cylinders, except removing athena name on the outside of the jugs and you cant the the barrels unplated from wsm/athena. the pictures of the website are out of the box athenas with there nikasil. sounds like when he was selling cubs "fully ported" but with nothing more then a clean up of the casting flaws. BANSHEE HP
also, the topic should be changed, there is no iron in these cylinders.
BigRed350x
You could always switch over to an iron sleeve Twister cylinder. But before you do anything, you need to figure out why you melted the nikasil in your cylinders and prevent it from happening again in the future. Something is out of whack with your setup or you never would have melted them. Even if you re-plated them or swap to an iron sleeve you will just blow it all up again unless you find out what caused it the first time and fix it. jay shafer
well im in the same situation as you with the rdz cylinders.....i fucked up mine bc of running it lean on the top end several times.....i though it was getting enuff fuel on each run but it kept laying down on the big end and it finally burnt the pistons up and the nikasil went with it....it is in fact the cheap plating but he did say if its chipping he would replace the pistons and will get the cylinders renikasiled from melleninum....so depending on what happened u either will pay for the new plating or it will be covered under his disclaimer on his website......
