252wheelieking
I was told that if I installed a radiator fan on my banshee that it would run alot cooler. Which makes alot of sense if they are know for overheating from long idleing periods & alot of hard riding. Do anybody know what size radiator fan to buy & install? Where can I get a good fan that really works? & whats the best way to install one on a banshee without making it look rigged? BigRed350x
First thing you will need is a DC conversion and a battery. Then just find a fan that fits where you want it and wire it up. I've seen a few banshees with fans on them down at Walden on the hillclimbs. If you are jetted correctly and keep air moving across your radiator when you're riding hard it shouldn't be a problem. If you are idling long enough to get your temps up to where you're overheating, then just shut the bike off. lol

I just wanted to install one for certain situations like when I'm riding with my cousins & they wanna take a long trail through the woods at slow speeds I can use the fan for air to keep it cool. sheerider1026
in all honesty, i wouldnt mess with the dc conversion and fan and battery... just get a good aluminum radiator.. make sure its jetted right.. u will never have overheating issues.. Trick2stroke
A billet impeller and some engine ice should be plenty.

X2. I just got a Boss oversized radiator and its really nice. And you can't beat the price for a Boss brand radiator....Here's the link I ordered mine from: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Boss-ATV-Racing-Banshee-YFZ350-oversize-radiator-/310270398433?pt=Motors_ATV_Parts_Accessories&hash=item483d8e8fe1
252wheelieking
Thanks guys...I never really had a problem with mines getting too hot except when I follow them 4 jokes through the trails @ -5 mph...lol... I use prestone mixed 50/50 antifreeze in mines....is that ok?........but im going to install either a chariot or pro design impeller & still don't know which of the two to buy. This my second banshee & I have alot to learn about them, but I consider this second one my first because I only had my first banshee for 3 months & it got stolen. Mine still runs hot in the dead heat of July. I found that straight water works great. My bike runs cooler, longer. Cools down quicker also. I do put 50/50 back in for winter.

Is that safe or aren't you suppose to run a 50/50 mix? Just wondering.

bigblockbanshee
I just ordered the Chariot Ultra High Flow impeller/cover kit for mine. I'm excited to see how good it and the Engine Ice work to keep this thing cool because I'll be doing a lot of slow/moderately fast woods riding and overheating is something I don't wanna have to worry about. Just a word to the wise though, on the Chariot auction page it says that the Ultra High Flow impeller cover will fit under the factory plastic cover if you take the heat-reflective tape off but the cover doesn't sit flat on the clutch cover so I'm gonna have to come up with an aftermarket cover. Just thought I'd throw that in there in case you'd considered the Chariot Ultra High Flow kit. They do however offer a kit that comes with one for $138 I think. As for a fan, I've noticed that the fans on my '07 R1 are only about 5/8" thick so they may work and they are extremely powerful. Just my 2 cents...
