BigRed350x Posted January 1, 2011 Report Share Posted January 1, 2011 People put the zip tie there in order to not let the TZ bearing fall off the crank and let all the rollers fall out. The TZ's are able to be taken apart. They just slide together. Yeah, i know the TZ's come apart easy, but where that ziptie is, the bearing would still slide right off. The ziptie isn't any bigger than the inner race, so the bearings themselves, the race they ride in, and the outer bearing race could all still slide off. BANSHEE HP Posted January 1, 2011 Report Share Posted January 1, 2011 this is pointless but where the zipties connect to eachother (the little locker/clicker) is whats holding the outter race/roller pins on the crank, you can see it in the third pic.
