I did the ultimate atv no no and car washed the shee and lost part of my stock decals. Was wanting to change it up a bit and go with something pretty cool looking. Jereme6655 Posted December 3, 2010 Report Share Posted December 3, 2010 graphics and sticker kits will stick better if they are put onto a clean dirt free surface that is WARM....too hot and it will bubble or cause the graphic to slide.....but nice and warm and it will help the adhesian process. frinkbc Posted December 5, 2010 Report Share Posted December 5, 2010 i put on some pretty cool warrior factory decals ( has flames inside the lettering ). as mentioned warm and clean surface is a must, i got lucky usually i suck at putting on stickers but i pulled off the backing lined it up and stuck one corner, slowly work the sticker on. I'm probably going to clean and polish my plastics before I even try to put on the new graphics. I'll probably care about the appearence of my quad more once I get the new graphics on. I have a hard time getting over the fact that there are a million 06 blue banshees. This is why I just rode and didn't worry about scratches or anything like that. Thanks for the suggestions. Jereme6655 Posted December 6, 2010 Report Share Posted December 6, 2010 you can use a heat gun for removing the old graphics......just dont use too much heat or you'll change the look of your plastics (a little more heat and you can actually get your plastics to shine again). HOWEVER.....if you take off the graphics you're gonna be able to see where the old graphics used to be unless you place something over it enough to distract the eye or totally cover it up. If they are cut vinyl graphics that you're putting on the shee and not sticker style then you can actually just use soap and water in a spray bottle.....spray it on the plastic and on the vinyl (not too much but not too little...just enough to cover it lightly) then you can place the sticker down and slightly move it around to align it properly......then use a small rubber (stiff) squeege or a bondo blade and work from the center out squeezing all the soap and water out to the edges. TAKE YOUR TIME! and be careful not to tear your vinyl or anything when your putting them on....letters are more challenging because of the sharp edges that can catch the squeegie tools. after you get the water/soap mix out let it sit for a bit......letting it sit in the sun or even LIGHT heart from a blow-dryer can be applied to help heat the adhesive and aid in sticking better.
